CIDES Usulkan Natsir Pahlawan Nasional

(Syahganda Nainggolan) Pemerintah SBY-JK diharapkan memberi gelar pahlawan nasional untuk almarhum Mohammad Natsir, mantan Perdana Menteri RI di era pemerintahan parlementer pada tahun 1950. Pengakuan sebagai pahlawan nasional untuk Natsir pantas diberikan mengingat jasanya yang besar dalam mengembalikan keutuhan negara Indonesia melalui perjuangan ‘Mosi Integral’, sebagaimana pidato Natsir yang monumental di parlemen pada 3 April 1950 selaku Perdana Menteri.

Demikian ditegaskan Direktur Eksekutif Center for Information and Development Studies (CIDES), Syahganda Nainggolan di Jakarta, Rabu (16/7), dalam rangka peringatan seratus tahun Mohammad Natsir (1908-2008) yang jatuh pada 17 Juli ini.

Menurut Syahganda, jasa Natsir meletakkan kembali Negara Kesatuan Republika Indonesia (NKRI) dari ‘ancaman’ kebuntuan Republik Indonesia Serikat (RIS) yang diciptakan pemerintah Belanda, merupakan pijakan sejarah yang mahal dalam membangun kesatuan nasional Indonesia hingga kini.

“Nilai-nilai persatuan bangsa yang masih bergelora di tengah masyarakat kita dewasa ini, juga tidak bisa dilepaskan dari pengaruh keberhasilan Mosi Integral Natsir,” jelas Syahganda, seraya menambahkan Pemnerintah SBY-JK tidak boleh melupakan jasa terbesar Natsir tersebut.

“Tanpa Mosi Integral Natsir bangsa ini mungkin sudah tercabik-cabik tidak karuan, akibat terbelah menjadi negara-negara kecil. Karena itu, negara perlu mengapresiasi perjuangan Natsir dengan memberi gelar pahlawan nasional,” tambah Syahganda.

Bahkan, kata Syahganda, almarhum Mohammad Natsir layak diabadikan sebagai nama jalan utama di Ibukota, dengan membagi dua kawasan sepanjang jalan Sudirman, Jakarta menjadi Jalan Sudirman dan Jalan Mohammad Natsir.

Pada bagian lain, Syahganda mengaku jasa Natsir yang bersejarah untuk Indonesia, di antaranya gagasan ‘politik bebas aktif’, yang kemudian menjadi pedoman bagi Indonesia dalam menjalankan kebijakan politik luar negerinya.

“Berkat jasa Natsir pula, Indonesia kembali ke pangkuan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB), setelah hengkang dari PBB oleh Presiden Soekarno,” ujarnya.

Dikatakan, bangsa Indonesia perlu melihat sosok almarhum Natsir sebagai negarawan sejati, yang tidak saja patut diteladani, namun juga harus dihormati perjuangan maupun ketokohannya. “Dengan demikian, bangsa ini akan selalu menjadi bangsa yang besar serta terhormat, apalagi sosok Natsir sangat dihormati oleh dunia Internasional,” ujarnya, lagi.
